Welcome to the premier Keokuk tourism site on the web! We hope you enjoy our efforts to bring you all the tourist information that we could gather.

From Keokuk’s beginning as a fur trading post the city has been home to a Civil War medical center, a medical college, and the largest electric generating plant in the world. Keokuk was once home to Mark Twain, Civil War generals, and budding professional baseball players. Keokuk still holds the natural beauty of the Mississippi River, historic homes, and many of the industries that made the city what it is. Bald eagles feed on the open waters below the dam in winter, and boats still pass through the longest lock on the Mississippi. Keokuk, the 1991 and 1995 Iowa Tourism Community of the Year, has something for everyone to enjoy!

The Keokuk Area Convention and Tourism Bureau can accommodate group tours, and group rates are available at some hotels and restaurants. The KACTB is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. For the most up-to-date Keokuk tourism information, or for help with travel planning, please write to them at 329 Main St., Keokuk, IA 52632, or call them at 800-383-1219 or 319-524-5599. You can even fax them at 319-524-5016. Be sure to tell them you found them on Keokuk.Net!
